Future Agricultural Leader Support

- Educating the Next Generation
Supporting Education for Thai Youth, Future Agricultural Leaders
For the sustainable development of the major agricultural nation of Thailand, the power of the younger generation is indispensable. Siam Kubota Corporation is working to nurture the next generation of leaders through activities designed to help them grasp the situations surrounding agriculture in Thailand and the multifaceted functions of agriculture, and to boost their pride and confidence in agriculture.
The increasing age of farmers and the shortage of labor are global issues, and Thailand, which is known to be a major agricultural nation, is no exception. Thailand’s agricultural population tends to decrease every year, and training young farmers to lead the next generation is urgently needed.
Siam Kubota Corporation Co., Ltd. (SKC) is promoting a variety of projects to support agricultural education, based on the idea that the power of the younger generation is important for the sustainable development of agriculture in Thailand.
Specifically, we are collaborating with a local university to train the next generation of agricultural engineers. The diverse ways we support the development of young technical experts includes sending visiting lecturers to agricultural technology universities in Thailand, preparing textbooks on agricultural machinery use, providing agricultural machinery and diesel engines to be used as in-class teaching materials, and accepting internship students with the cooperation of SKC service centers and dealers.
We also launched the Kubota Farmer’s Camp in 2000 to teach young people the importance of agriculture in Thailand. The aim is for the students throughout Thailand participating in this program to learn about the latest agricultural technology and agricultural business through hands-on agricultural experience, and to build a peer exchange network among the younger generation.
SKC will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society based on agriculture through activities including proactively supported agricultural education for the younger generation and fostering their motivation to take up farming.
