Supporting Education through the Donation of Educational Supplies to Underprivileged Children

For the development of a sustainable society, it is essential to create an environment where children, who will lead the next generation, can receive an adequate education. The Kubota Group donates stationeries, school bags, and other items to support the education of children in the regions where its businesses are located.

  • India

India is expected to surpass China as the world’s most populous nation by 2027. While India’s economic growth is expected to further accelerate in the future, the nation faces the issues of a large disparity between the rich and the poor and diverse educational environments in varying regions. In August 2020, Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt., Ltd. located in Pune, the second largest city in the state of Maharashtra in India, donated 400 sets of school supplies that contained notebooks, sketchbooks, pencil cases, pens, erasers, and crayons to underprivileged children in Pune.

  • China

Kubota Agricultural Machinery (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (KAMS) in China has been donating children’s books to the nearby library and indoor housing complex facilities since 2016 to ensure that neighborhood children have the opportunity to read books and to deepen exchange with the adjacent housing complex. In the six years since 2016, and including the 273 books donated in 2021, KAMS donated a total of 1,336 books. Additionally in 2020, the company donated 1,600 books, bookshelves, and chairs among other items to set up an elementary school library room in Hubei Province, which contributes to creating opportunities for children to come into contact with books.

  • Thailand

Siam Kubota Corporation Co., Ltd., (SKC) which conducts business in Thailand, has been donating school bags through our dealers to children in Thailand and the neighboring countries of Cambodia and Laos. In 2019, the company donated 70,000 school bags to children in Thailand, 20,000 to children in Cambodia, and 9,000 school bags as well as some scholarships to children in Laos. This activity has been implemented annually since 2016.

In 2022, we also donated school bags, masks, and water bottles, as well as mask strap and alcohol gel sets for underprivileged children in Thailand. Through this activity, which was held for the seventh time in 2022, and which is conducted every year on Children's Day in Thailand, 388,000 school bags have been contributed so far to children. In addition to such charitable activities, the various ways SKC is supporting the children who will lead the next generation include holding online events such as agriculture-related drawing contests, or contests in which children post photos taken of themselves with Kubota products.
