December 27, 2017
Kubota Corporation (Headquarters: Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Japan; President and Representative Director: Masatoshi Kimata) has been identified as the Highest-Rated “A-List Company” in “CDP Water*”, a research concerning sustainable water management conducted in 2017.
This year’s Water A List is comprised of 73 global companies and 12 Japanese companies. The results was announced at the CDP’s Japan debriefing session held in United Nations University, Tokyo on October 24th. Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, Kenshiro Ogawa made a speech for receiving the rating.
The Kubota Group has been striving to solve problems in the field of “food, water and the environment” with the brand statement "For Earth, For Life". Since our founding in 1890, we contribute to the improvement of water infrastructure in the world as a "total brand of water" that supplies total products from intake water to waste water, including water cast iron pipes, pumps, valves and water treatment facilities.
Regarding the reduction of environmental impacts generated by the Group's business activities, we have formulated Medium-term Environmental Conservation Targets 2020 and have been working on reducing water consumption per production (by 10% compared to 2014). In addition to water-saving activities at all sites of the whole Group, we have been promoting reduction of water consumption by introducing our own technology such as wastewater recycling facilities at factories.
In our point of view, we were comprehensively evaluated for our contribution to conserving the water environment through our products, technologies and services, also for our identification of the influence on water resources and reduction of the water impacts in our business activities as water management linked with the business strategy.
The Kubota Group will continue to contribute to society through our global business activities with the conservation of water resources as one of the highly important issues (materiality).
