Liquefaction
Back to PageSⅡ-type* pipeline was installed where The Great Hanshin Earthquake occurred on January 17, 1995, in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
No damage was found on its pipeline even though 1.3m ground subsidence caused by liquefaction occurred in the vicinity of its pipeline.
Note:
*SⅡ-type was one of the Hazard Resilient Ductile Iron Pipe (HRDIP**) joints which is no longer selling since NS-type was developed afterward.
**HRDIP is also referred to as Earthquake Resistant Ductile Iron Pipe (ERDIP) in Japan, USA, and so on.
SⅡ-type DN300 pipeline maintained water supply without damage.
