Landslide
Back to PageS-type pipe is adopted as a countermeasure against landslide for a project by Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) in San Jose, CA, USA.
The area where pipes were installed has steep slopes and danger of displacement.
S-type DN1500, DN1650 and DN1800 (60”, 66” and 72”) pipes were installed in parallel in the area as countermeasures against displacement at landslide toe estimated as 7.7 feet of seismic and 1.7 feet of creep, 9.4 feet displacement in total over 50 years.
