Kubota and Microsoft Strengthen Strategic Alliance to Drive Digital Transformation Using Generative AI and Communication Tools

Kubota Corporation (Head Office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Japan; President and Representative Director: Yuichi Kitao; hereinafter, “Kubota”) and Microsoft Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; hereinafter, “Microsoft Japan”) have renewed the strategic alliance, which was originally signed in 2020. Through this renewed alliance, the companies aim to drive the advancement of operational efficiency through Microsoft’s AI technologies such as generative AI, and foster the reevaluation of work styles using communication tools.

Kubota has been dedicated to addressing social issues through its businesses in the areas of food, water, and the environment. With Microsoft Japan providing technology and human resources to drive the transformation of Kubota’s products and operations, the two companies will further accelerate their efforts to tackle social issues.

  1. Establishment of Kubota AI Academy
    AI education program to approximately 52,000 executives and employees across the Kubota Group, with the goal of enhancing their knowledge and skills. By leveraging AI, the companies aim to transform work practices and boost operational productivity within the Kubota Group.
  2. Company-wide Business Process Transformation
    By implementing Azure AI into Kubota’s processes such as research and development as well as manufacturing, the companies aim to improve business efficiency and accelerate innovation through advanced data analysis, forecasting, and the effective use of knowledge.
  3. Advancing the Development of AI-Powered Products and Services
    The companies will advance the adoption and use of Microsoft’s latest Azure AI, which has already been implemented in various industries such as automotive, to enhance the competitiveness of Kubota’s products and services, including autonomous driving technologies.
  4. Work Style Reform
    By leveraging communication tools such as Microsoft Teams, the companies aim to establish frameworks that enhance communication and promote the widespread sharing of information, ideas, and insights within the Kubota Group. This will strengthen collaboration across teams and enable more efficient task execution.
