Kubota Invests in UV Boosting, a French company specializing in plant care with a unique UVC-based solution

Kubota Corporation (Head Office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Japan; President and Representative Director: Yuichi Kitao; hereinafter, “Kubota”) has invested in UV Boosting, a French start-up that develops, manufactures, and sells UV equipment that flashes UV light to fruit trees and lawns. The technology of UV Boosting enhances natural defense mechanisms in plants, therefore reduces the need for pesticides and increasing crop yields.

• In Europe, many initiatives are underway to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable growth. Also ecosystem-friendly cultivation methods are also beginning to proliferate at a rapid pace. This shift is expected to drive demand for technology that minimize the use of chemicals pesticides.
• UV Boosting is a French start-up that develops, manufactures, and sells UV flash equipment technology for various applications such as for vineyard and orchard cultivation, lawn care in sports facilities, and other similar applications.
• UV Boosting’s UV flash technology utilizes wavelengths on the shorter end of the UV spectrum to stimulate leaves, promoting the secretion of salicylic acid and other plant hormones that enhance their natural resistance to pathogens. By strengthening this inherent defense, UV Boosting’s technology reduces disease incidence, and minimizes the reliance of pesticides. Additionally, it helps to increase crop yields by mitigating the effects of plant growth abnormalities caused by frost, drought, and other adverse weather conditions.
