These activities are guided by the brand statement “For Earth, For Life,” which expresses the company’s ongoing commitment to continue supporting the prosperous life of humans while protecting the environment of this beautiful earth.
Kubota has been pursuing a process of forecasting for societal changes in the long term, identifying risks and opportunities in business, and formulating the future direction of the Kubota Group. This has now led to the establishment of “Environmental Vision” that sets out the company’s environment-related aspirations toward 2050.
In order to achieve this Environmental Vision, the Kubota Group will be working strategically to reduce CO2 emissions and other forms of environmental impact in its production activities. Furthermore, it will tackle a variety of societal challenges in the areas of “food, water, and the environment” through the provision of environmentally-friendly products and solutions, contributing to the realization of a society that is not only carbon neutral by 2050 but also resilient to environment changes such as climate change.
In the area of food, for example, Kubota will be working to reduce the CO2 emissions generated during product operation through improvements in the fuel efficiency of its agricultural machinery and construction machinery, utilization of bio-fuels, and development of next-generation power sources. Moreover, it will use smart agriculture products and solutions designed to boost yield per unit area to help curb the deforestation that results from expansion of farmland in the context of growing demand for food worldwide. In the areas of water and the environment, Kubota will promote effective use of limited resources by delivering environmental equipment and plants that enable sophisticated circulation of water resources and wastes. Additionally, the provision of solutions to boost efficiency in the management of water supply & sewerage and other infrastructure will enable Kubota to improve the overall resilience of society in areas including mitigation of damage from frequent weather disasters, etc.
