Kubota Corporation
Kubota Corporation (Head Office: Naniwa-ku, Osaka, Japan; President and Representative Director: Yuichi Kitao; hereinafter, "Kubota") announced that SIAM KUBOTA Corporation Co., Ltd., a subsidiary in the Kingdom of Thailand, has established Kubota Farm in Thailand to conduct demonstrations of agricultural machinery and advanced farming techniques. In collaboration with KUBOTA Research & Development Asia Co., Ltd. (KRDA), an R&D subsidiary there, Kubota will remain committed to contributing to the advancement of farming in ASEAN countries by reinforcing business activities that cater to the demands in this fast-growing region.
1.Background and aims
- Since the opening of a production and sales site in Thailand in 1978, Kubota has contributed to the economic development of the ASEAN region by promoting agriculture mechanization there.
- In recent years, in particular, Kubota has focused on research and development of agricultural machinery suited for crops, field conditions, and work processes in Thailand. Following the 2016 establishment of KRDA in the country, the variety of locally developed products has increased at an accelerated pace.
- The establishment of Kubota Farm is part of this overarching plan for the region. Having our own spacious demonstration farm will allow us to study and demonstrate in-house methods and techniques for growing and managing agricultural produce by using the latest machinery and technology. We are also planning to invite local dealers and farmers to try for themselves state-of-the-art agricultural technology in a bid to promote sales of our products and foster leaders of the agriculture business in the region.
