Kubota Corporation is manufacturing plate-like polycrystalline potassium hexatitanate using its original melting method. This method produces a large diameter and length by utilizing the anistropic nature of crystal growth speed during cooling and crystallization. With this method, low-purity natural titanium dioxide can be used as a raw material, whereas only high-purity titanium dioxide can be used in other methods.
