“Kubota engines and transmissions run smoothly, and they deliver good power to boot. I rate their overall performance as excellent.”

When we pulled into the driveway of Globe Hardwood in Olive Hill, Kentucky, our field of view was filled with a glorious expanse of meticulously groomed grass. We weren’t sure whether we had the right address or had mistakenly entered an exclusive country club. When we mentioned that these surroundings gave us all a yearning for golf, Buck Rayburn, owner of Globe Hardwood, flashed a quick grin, and then very humbly accepted our compliments on his home.

Buck anticipated our next question and continued by saying, “As far as the grounds and my farm are concerned, I owe it all to my Kubota tractors. I have an M-Series 9000 with an LA1251 loader, an M-Series 5700, a ZD28 with 60-inch mower deck, and an RTV900.” Majestically situated between breathtaking rolling hills, Buck’s spread encompasses 150 gorgeous acres. With so much to maintain, we followed up by asking what needs to be done and how Buck gets it done.

“Depending on the time of year, we till, seed, fertilize, rotary cut, mow, rake, fluff and bale hay; do daily checks on our cattle and run fences. I even mow my own lawn here, which is about three acres. I use my big M9000 for all the heavy stuff, like pulling a 15-foot bat wing. When it’s time for hay, rotary cutting, tilling or other farm chores, I fire up the M5700. For the property around my home, I use my ZD28 with a wide 60-inch mower deck. And when it comes to going from farm to farm or going fishing, nothing beats my RTV900.”

Next, we pressed for the details and Buck was more than happy to oblige. “As you can see, I have to contend with a lot of hillsides here, but they’re no match for my Kubotas. For starters, they have great balance, and their 4-wheel drive gives me excellent traction and power transfer to the ground, and not to forget, lots of horsepower too. The controls, gearshift, the positioning of everything is perfect. It’s a great product.”

Buck tied things up by talking about his local Kubota dealer. “My dealer, Jack, does a super job. He’s great on service, he’s close by, and he always gives me a good trade in. Yes sir, Jack got me started, but what keeps me going is the reliability of my Kubota equipment.”
